Early on in my use of Twitter, as my following grew and I reciprocated, it became increasingly difficult to track the Tweets that I wanted to read. There were family, friends, and general contacts that I followed whose updates I never saw because of the sheer volume of posts that would come across my Twitter feed. This dilemma left me searching for a solution.
After trying several options including Seesmic Desktop and HootSuite, I finally settled on TweetDeck. This program has allowed me to set-up columns and categorize people based on my interest in their Tweets. For example, I have the media outlets I follow feed into a column labeled media and my family and friends feed into a column labeled – you guessed it – family & friends.
As my following has grown so has my reliance on TweetDeck.
